Sarus not to be released in a sanctuary

The Kanpur Zoo has found that the Sarus bird, who became famous for its friendship with a human, is female, and will be paired with a male. The zoo will not release the bird into a sanctuary, as they see it as a lucky find due to the scarce female population of the bird in the area. The bird has not been eating properly since being brought to the zoo in March, and officials are working on improving its diet.

Chandigarh man land in soup for throwing garbage in Mohali’s territory

The garbage collectors present at the spot stopped the man, who was heading from Sector 56 side. Supervisor Sachin Kumar confronted the Chandigarh resident and told him that mixed garbage will not be accepted at the RMC point. The person was asked to collect the bag of garbage he had thrown. At this a heated argument ensued which led to a scuffle, said general secretary Pawan Godyal, Punjab Safai Mazdoor Federation.

Sensitise pilots, cabin crew on handling unruly flyers, says DGCA

The aviation regulator pointed out provisions under the Civil Aviation Requirement (CAR) for action to be taken by the airline to deal with unruly passengers

The regulator also pointed out that in the recent past, it has noticed a few incidents such as smoking in aircraft, consumption of alcoholic beverages resulting in unruly behaviour, altercations between passengers and sometimes inappropriate touching or sexual harassment by the passengers during the flight, wherein “post holders, pilots and cabin crew members have failed to take appropriate actions”.
