Gurugram: Two held for duping hundreds on social media app

Two men have been arrested in Gurugram for allegedly scamming a 23-year-old executive out of ₹20 lakh ($27,000) by promising to pay him for liking links on social media platforms. The suspects contacted the victim through Telegram and convinced him to invest money for high returns.

Nine judges hold in-chamber review hearing over NJAC

A review petition seeking the recall of a historic 1993 ruling establishing the primacy of the CJI over the executive in appointing judges to the higher judiciary was filed by the National Lawyers Campaign for Judicial Reforms and Transparency (NLCJRT).

A nine-judge bench led by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi held an in-chamber hearing on Thursday on a review petition seeking the recall of a historic 1993 ruling establishing the primacy of the CJI over the executive in appointing judges to the higher judiciary.(PTI)
