Class 11 girl beats up molester, school expels her

The girl who was intercepted by a 25-year-old man on Thursday on her way back from school, beat up the molester with slippers before dialling 100 for help. The accused was booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and sent to jail.

MJ Akbar, Tarun Tejpal suspended from Editors Guild of India

Office bearers of the Editors Guild of India concurred with the majority view that Akbar should be suspended from the Guild till such time that the court case he has filed is concluded. It has also decided that Tarun Tejpal too should be suspended from the Guild.

Vigilance officers barged into rooms, took photos without consent, allege IIT-Madras students

An informal report, a compilation of harassment faced by students on IIT-Madras campus, initiated by the students last year, had alleged rampant “moral policing” by security personnel, non-academic staff, faculty and fellow students.
