Amid severe cold weather, 13 shelters for homeless in Noida’s GB Nagar

Thirteen shelters for the homeless have been set up in Greater Noida and Noida in anticipation of a cold wave, with arrangements made for drinking water, toilets, beds, and blankets. The shelters are free for the destitute, daily wagers, and others in need. The weather department has forecast dense fog and temperatures of around 10 to 20 degrees Celsius until January 2.

Navi Mumbai is set to open its first night shelter for the homeless and destitute in time for Diwali. The shelter can accommodate 100 people and has been funded by the state and central governments. The facility will provide basic necessities such as mattresses, blankets, and healthcare services. The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation plans to open more shelters in the future.
