Khan, a LeT commander and a resident of Sozieth in Srinagar, was among the two militants killed in a gun fight with security forces on Saturday in the Ranbirgarh-Panzinara area of Srinagar.

Members of 3 communities get J&K domicile certificates

Under the Domicile Rules, all those people and their children, who have lived in J&K for 15 years, or have studied for seven years and appeared in Board examinations (Grade X or XII) from a UT-based educational institution are eligible for the grant of domicile.

Govt issues gazette notification for adaptation of 37 central laws in J&K

On February 26, the Cabinet gave its nod to issue an order which will allow 37 central laws in the Concurrent List to be implemented in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

Farooq Abdullah, along with son Omar and former chief minister and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti, were detained on August 4, 2019, a day before the Centre stripped Jammu and Kashmir of special status and bifurcated it into two union territories.

The advisory committee will frame policies for the smooth and transparent functioning of the board, besides the timely and efficient conduct of the entrance tests by it, said an official spokesperson, quoting the GDA order.

The shell had landed near a house in the Balakot area of Mendhar sector during cross-border shelling on Saturday and was noticed by some villagers, who informed the Army, the officials said.
