India sending 14-member medical team to Maldives to counter coronavirus

India has received requests from several countries, including Bhutan, the Maldives, Iran and Italy, for assistance and essential supplies such as surgical masks and protective gear, and these are being processed, external affairs ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar told a news briefing.

External Affairs ministry gets requests for protective gear from 4 coronavirus-hit countries

India had earlier provided 15 tonnes of medical equipment to China -- the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak which has reported more than 3,100 fatalities from the infection.
