“We can comfortably assume that the third peak in Delhi is over. It is even better now that the vaccine has arrived. However, I still urge people to continue wearing masks and take all necessary precautions against Covid-19,” health minister Satyendar Jain said in a press conference on Sunday.

The Centre on Saturday said that Covid-19 vaccination drive would begin in the country on January 16, when nearly 30 million healthcare and frontline workers will be inoculated.

“The Delhi government already provides free medicines and treatment to residents of the city. The vaccine against Covid-19 will also be provided free of cost to the people of Delhi, once it arrives,” said Jain while talking to reporters.

The health minister said the government cannot say that the third wave is over since the cases are coming, be it only 2 per cent. “Now corona will remain like other diseases but certainly, the chances of its massive outbreak seem to be less,” he said.
