In North Sikkim the places blocked include Phodong and Namok on the highway to Mangan. Road to the district is also blocked at Sokpey, Rakdong and Tintek Khola near Dikchu and work is on to remove the landslide debris. Some houses have been damaged at Marchak village on the Singtam-Mangan highway

Foreign tourists can apply for RAP and PAP online to visit Sikkim from October

To visit Sikkim foreigners must obtain Restricted Area Permit (RAP) previously known as InnerLine Permit from Sikkim Tourism Officers on the strength of valid Indian Visa. Sikkim CM announced about the online application for RAP and PAP for foreign tourists in his Independence Day speech

Sikkim sees massive growth of the tourism industry post Covid-19

According to tourism department records, as many as 3.08 lakh domestic travellers visited the hill state of Sikkim between October last year and March 2022, with January being the most profitable month for various stakeholders of the sector at 98,456 visitors.

Sikkim, West Bengal sign agreement to ease travel for tourists, boost tourism

The agreement will allow West Bengal-registered commercial vehicles to drop tourists at their hotels in different travel destinations of Sikkim.
