Man abandons car in Gurgaon rain, hitches bike ride to reach ‘ ₹300 crore DLF neighbourhood’

Heavy rain left several parts of Gurgaon submerged, bringing daily life to a crawl. Amid widespread traffic chaos on social media, a commuter’s viral post revealed how he was rescued from the flooded roads by a rider who drove him to his neighbourhood.
“Today, a rider rescued me from torrential rain and dropped me to my ₹300 crore DLF neighbourhood,” a trader and YouTuber, Manas Arora, wrote as a part of his post on X. He added how he had to leave his car on the road.
He posted a photo standing stranded beside his car on a completely submerged road. Moments later, a follow-up video showed him riding pillion on a stranger’s bike as they carefully waded through the floodwaters.

What did social media say?
An individual questioned, “How bad is the drainage there? It's unfathomable to think of this much waterlogging. Something is not right. Is that a low-lying area? Or is it just a few minutes thing?” Another commented, “The 300 CR neighbourhood does not seem worthy enough, looking at this waterlogging.”
A third expressed, “Waterfront apartment complex. Premium!” A fourth wrote, “The struggle is real.”
Gurgaon rain chaos:
Heavy rain brought Gurugram to a standstill on Monday (August 24). Several visuals of the waterlogged city made their way online, including a shocking one showing school buses stuck in a flooded road.
“Gurugram: School buses carrying children stranded on waterlogged roads,” PTI tweeted while sharing a video of the situation.
Following the chaos on Monday, the government ordered private schools, educational institutions, and government schools to conduct online classes on Tuesday (August 25). The city’s District Disaster Management authority also issued a work-from-home advisory for Tuesday.

In view of the heavy rainfall in Gurugram on 24 August 2026, there is a possibility of waterlogging and traffic congestion at various locations across the district.
All corporate offices, Government and private schools/institutions are advised to guide their employees/staff to work from home on 25 August 2026.
The advisory will help reduce traffic congestion and facilitate smooth repair and maintenance works on roads and drains by civic agencies.
Citizens are requested to cooperate and plan their travel accordingly.
Gurgaon weather update:
On Monday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert for Gurgaon. According to the IMD website at 8:18 am, no alerts were issued for Tuesday (August 25).
According to the agency’s website, Gurgaon will have “Generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers.”
