Bangladesh armed forces fight massive blaze at biggest airport; flight ops suspended

Chaos erupted at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport after a massive fire broke out in the cargo terminal around 2:15 PM. Thick black smoke covered the sky as Bangladesh’s army and air force joined firefighting teams to contain the inferno. All flight operations were suspended, leaving hundreds stranded. Several aircraft were towed to safety as flames spread toward hangars. Indigo’s Delhi-Dhaka flight was diverted to Kolkata amid the shutdown. Authorities said full efforts were underway to bring the blaze under control as rescue teams battled for hours.
