BJP bags all 8 seats in Lakhimpur Kheri; Voters undeterred by Oct 2021 violence

All eight seats in the Lakhimpur Kheri district were won by the ruling BJP candidates. The massacre of eight people, including four farmers, during an anti-farm law rally in October 2021 had become a poll topic. A car driven by Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni's son Ashish ran over the four farmers, killing them. The BJP had won all eight seats in Lakhimpur Kheri in 2017 too, but the opposition had stepped up its attacks following Mishra's release on bail only days before the election.
