'Crazy…': EU allies scared of Trump, start abandoning Denmark over Greenland? | US| NATO| tariffs

Czech Foreign Minister Petr Macinka says the Greenland situation is “not simple” and “cannot be settled with a statement,” arguing it needs joint negotiations between the Americans, Greenlanders and Danes rather than alliance partners lining up on opposing sides. He calls Denmark’s stance “excellent and logical” because it is directly involved, but notes other ministers have their own views and stresses Prague’s basic position is to support de‑escalation and negotiations rather than take a hard line. Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó, for his part, says Budapest considers the Greenland issue a bilateral question to be resolved directly between the parties, “not a European Union matter,” and closes by saying Hungary “greatly appreciate[s] Donald Trump’s peace efforts in the Middle East,” calling Trump’s initiatives “the only hope for peace and calm to return” there.
