Delhi Gets a Monsoon Soaking | Heavy Rainfall Across City

Heavy rain lashed Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR), inundating roads, markets and key traffic corridors as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert, its highest weather warning. Severe waterlogging was reported from several parts of the capital, including ITO, Delhi-Meerut Expressway, South Extension, Nizamuddin, Ghazipur border, Outer Ring Road, RK Ashram Marg, Jhandewalan and Rani Jhansi Road, disrupting traffic and stranding commuters. The IMD has warned of more heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and possible waterlogging across Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram and Faridabad, advising residents to avoid unnecessary travel.
