Philip Seymour Hoffman died from 'drug overdose'

Academy award winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead from an apparent drug overdose. The 46-year-old actor's body was reportedly discovered on Feb 2 by his personal assistant in the bathroom of his New York apartment with a needle in his arm after injecting heroin. Hoffman's family have issued a statement saying that they are devastated by the loss of the Capote star and appreciate the outpouring of love and support they have received. They added that this is a tragic and sudden loss and they requested people to give them some privacy to grieve. Sources have revealed that the New York police department has opened a "DOA" ("Dead on arrival") investigation and is investigating a possible drug overdose.
