Hate-speech accused Sangeet Som, Suresh Rana, Azam Khan win elections

Rabble rousing seems to have worked this election too. Sangeet Som, BJP candidate from Sardhana, accused in Muzaffarnagar riots, was booked for showing 'riot clipping' in his election campaign. He won by 16,625 votes. Suresh Rana, BJP candidate from Thana Bhawan (Shamli), created controversy when he said he would clamp curfew in Kairana, Deoband, Moradabad of Uttar Pradesh if he and the party are voted to power. Like Som, he was also an accused in Muzaffarnagar riots. He won by 16,817 votes. Azam Khan, SP candidate from Rampur compared Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the mythical demon king Ravana. He won by 47,000 votes.
