India grounds Boeing 737 Max planes in light of Ethiopian Airlines crash

India joined a long list of countries including UK and China in suspending the Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft. The decision came after an Ethiopian Airlines plane crashed on Sunday killing 157 people on board. Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has taken the decision to ground Boeing 737 Max 8 planes immediately. The planes will be grounded till appropriate modifications and safety measures are undertaken to ensure their safe operations. SpiceJet and Jet Airways are the only two domestic airlines which operate Boeing 737 Max 8 planes.
