Sub-Lieutenant Shivangi becomes Indian Navy’s first woman pilot

Sub-Lieutenant Shivangi became the first women pilot in the Indian Navy. She received her qualification 'wings' from Vice Admiral AK Chawla. Shivangi joined operational duties at the naval base in Kerala's Kochi. While speaking to the media, Shivangi said, “I have been craving for this since a very long time and finally it is here, so it's a great feeling. I am looking forward to complete my 3rd stage of training.” She added, “Women were always there in the Navy but they were not in the cockpit.”
