Capt Sumit Kohli's mother demands probe into his death

The family of Army Captain Sumit Kohli met Defence Minister A.K. Antony on Saturday to demand a probe into his death four years earlier. Captain Kohli,who was honoured with the prestigious Shaurya Chakra, died in 2006 in Lolab of Jammu and Kashmir, and the Army claimed he committed suicide.Kohli's mother,Veena, however, suspected foul play and maintained that her son knew some internal matters of the 18 Rashtriya Rifles staged killings of four porters in the region in 2004. Kohli was found dead with gunshot wounds,and his mother said that the Army officials refused to show her the post-mortem report under the Right to Information Act by saying that the Act did not apply in restive region.Veena Kohli said that she wanted an investigation as her son's name was tarnished.
