Centre to amend CEIs quota Act for deprived classes

The Indian cabinet on Thursday decided to amend laws relating to Central Educational Institutions. The move is to safeguard the interests of the tribal population in far-flung and remote areas of the North-Eastern States. The Amendments are expected to ensure equity and inclusiveness and meet the regional aspirations.
