India's ruling Congress party as well as the main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party hailed the judgement of the Mumbai court that found Pakistani citizen Mohammad Ajmal Kasab guilty on 86 charges in the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Welcoming the verdict, senior BJP leader Gopinath Munde appealed to the Maharashtra government to challenge the court's decision of acquitting Fahim Ansari and Sabauddin. Addressing the media persons at New Delhi, the spokesperson of the Congress party termed the court's finding as historic.
