Houseboat making thrives as a business prospect in Kerala. The idyllic cruises on the houseboats present a perfect vacation to the tourists wanting luxury and nature. With a sharp increase in tourist activity in the state these houseboats known as Kettuvalloms have been skillfully restructured and reconstructed to make luxury cruise boats. At present there are over 60 houseboats in Kottayam, which have two to three well furnished bedrooms inside it.
