India-Pak still to reach consensus on gas pipeline: Iranian Envoy

Iranian Ambassador to India, Syed Mehdi Nabizadeh, on Saturday said that India and Pakistan are yet to agree on transit and transport fees over the dollar 7 billion Iran-Pakistan-India (IPI) gas pipeline project. Iran and Pakistan signed their agreement in May 2009 during a visit by Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari to Tehran, without giving details on its content or making clear whether there were still issues outstanding. India walked out of the 2,775 kilometres long gas pipeline project in 2008 mainly due to the huge transit fee demanded by Pakistan.
