The popularity of an Indian sweetmeat has transcended national boundaries and reached its customers far and wide. The mouth watering 'Kozhikode Halwa' - a known delicacy of southern Kerala state, is stimulating palates across the Gulf. The sweetmeat with a 200-year-old history has evolved with time and is now available in different varieties. Confectioners say the sweetmeat, when prepared and packed properly, remains fresh and edible for almost three months.
