ISRO formally calls off its first moon mission

After trying without success to restore radio contact with Chandrayaan-1, Indian Space Research Organisation or ISRO chief Madhavan Nair formally called off the mission on Sunday. Officials had earlier admitted that the chances of re-establishing contact were slim.
