Alleged Human Rights violation in the Kashmir valley led to a shutdown on Friday called by separatists in the wake of incidents of killings and re-arrest of its leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani. Resentment against the Indian army in the Muslim-majority Kashmir valley rose after the bodies of two women, aged 17 and 22, who locals say were abducted, raped and killed by security forces, were found on May 29. Recently, an alleged fatal assault on a girl by a trooper in Kupwara district came to light.
