N Ram defends newspaper on being soft on 2G- scam

Editor-in-Chief of leading national daily, 'The Hindu', N. Ram defended the newspaper from allegations of biasness and of a quid pro quo with former telecom minister A. Raja on Friday. Speaking to reporters in New Delhi, Ram called the allegations false and defamatory. Commenting on the controversial advertisement placed in the newspaper last May from the Telecommunications Ministry, which is being alleged by a certain section of the media that the ad was a "quid pro quo" for the publication of an interview with the then Telecom Minister A. Raja, Ram said the same advertisement was published in 15 different newspapers as well.
