People across India welcome 2011 with great fervor

People across India bid adieu to 2010 as they welcomed the New Year 2011 with lots of hope, enthusiasm and joy. Locals as well as foreign tourists in large numbers converged at various spots in Goa early on Saturday, where they all geared up to herald the New Year in festive spirits. Locals in Mumbai gathered from different places at Juhu beach to celebrate New Year. On the other hand, many foreign devotees visited the Mahabodhi Temple in the holy town of Bodhgaya in Bihar to seek blessings on the beginning of New Year.
