Poll campaign picks up in India

Sonia Gandhi, chief of India's ruling Congress party, on Wednesday lashed out at Kerala's ruling communist-led alliance, the Left Democratic Front for taking all the credit for the pro-poor policies launched by the ruling United Progressive Alliance regime. Addressing a well-attended rally in Thrissur, Gandhi said that all farm relief and employment generation schemes were part of the Congress party's manifesto of the 2004 general polls.
