Slump in IT & retail turn job seekers to new sectors

India's traditionally large employers - information technology and retail have cut down on hiring because of the economic slowdown. But newer sectors, like renewable energy and power are attracting professionals. India's IT sector - once flush with fat salaries and an expanding workforce, is facing wage cuts, and layoffs. Even retail, which was growing 30% annually till last year, is facing a slump.
