Traditional tribal head – a sovereign for a day

The tribal governing bodies did not enjoy the authority and priviliges merely in the past but even today. A village, Bero, 35 kms away from Ranchi celebrates the congregation of these traditional tribal heads once a year. Called "Parha Jatra", the fair sees a number of shops participating to bring in an element of entertainment to the occasion.
