UP: 2 killed in Shivratri stampede

At least 2 people are feared dead and 10 others injured on Sunday, when a stampede broke out at a Shiva temple on the occasion of Shiv Ratri in Barabanki in Uttar Pradesh. The incident occurred this morning when 'kanwarias' broke through the queue of devotees to offer water at Lodeshwar Mahadev Temple. This led to a stampede that left two persons dead. The injured have been admitted to the nearby hospital. Thousands of devotees had gathered at the temple for today's Shivratri puja.
