Vice Admiral DK Joshi takes charge as Indian Navy chief

Vice Admiral, Devendra Kumar Joshi, specialist in anti-submarine warfare, took charge as the new chief of Indian Navy on Friday in New Delhi, succeeding Admiral Nirmal Verma. Joshi has commanded the tri-services Andaman and Nicobar islands division and has also headed the Integrated Defence Staff headquarters. He has also commanded the solitary aircraft carrier INS Viraat and missile Ranvir.
