Covid-19: Are immunity passports an option to exit lockdown?

<p>Should governments start issuing 'immunity passports' to people who have recovered from Covid-19, as a major step towards reopening the economy? Hindustan Times' Sanchita Sharma looks at the pros and cons of this suggestion, in light of the World Health Organisation's opposition to the move. An immunity passport would be issued to those who have recovered from the disease and developed antibodies which may protect them from a second bout. The criticisms include discrimination against those who have managed to prevent infection by the Sars-Cov-2 virus, and also the threat of a few false results of antibody tests leading to vulnerable people venturing out. HealthWise: Is gallbladder removal safe?

<p>Gallstones are pebble-like collections of cholesterol and other substances that form in the gallbladder and cause chronic inflammation and pain. At least 10 million people in India develop gallstones every year, yet misconceptions about the disease persist. Many people believe no treatment is needed for gallstones that are small or are not causing pain. They're wrong. Gallstones are the most common risk factor for cancer of the gallbladder. A safe 30-minutes laparoscopic procedure for the removal of the gallbladder removal gets patients back on their feet within a couple of hours after surgery. Dr Pradeep Chowbey, chairman of the Max Institute of Laparoscopic, Endoscopic and Bariatric Surgery, separates the myths from the facts.</p>

Author Namita Gokhale on her book Jaipur Journals, why she feels writers are lonely creatures

<p>Namita Gokhale speaks to us about her latest book, Jaipur Journals, which was launched at the Jaipur Literature Festival by Shashi Tharoor. Namita is also the co-founder of the Jaipur Literature Festival along with William Dalrymple. </p><p>After having authored up to eighteen works of fiction and non-fiction, Gokhale's Jaipur Journals is a metafictional novel, set against the vibrant and multilingual Jaipur Literature Festival. The book is an ode to literature itself and is published by Penguin India.</p><p>Gokhale's acclaimed debut novel, Paro: Dreams of Passion, published in 1984, has remained a cult classic and has been issued in a double edition with its sequel Priya. She has worked extensively across genres on Indian mythology, including her retelling of the Indian epic in The Puffin Mahabharata, and her novel for young readers, Lost in Time: Ghatotkacha and the Game of Illusions.</p>
