Monsoon: Thunderstorms in store for Delhi? Watch IMD prediction after late-night phone alerts

Residents across Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad and the wider NCR woke up to much-needed relief after overnight thunderstorms and intermittent rain brought down temperatures. The weather changed dramatically from the evening of June 11, with strong winds, lightning and rainfall sweeping across the region. Several residents received emergency weather alerts on their phones through the night, warning of severe thunderstorms, lightning and moderate to heavy rainfall. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), thunderstorm activity is expected to intensify further on June 12 as the weather system strengthens over the region.
