Amid outrage over Manipur horror, the BJP trained guns at the West Bengal government over a July 19 incident in Malda district where two tribal women were stripped naked and beaten by a frenzy mob. The BJP accused West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of not condemning the incident and said it would have exposed her own failure. The ruling TMC, meanwhile, said that the incident took place after the two victim women allegedly stole something from the market, and police are investigating the matter.
