Former Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Champat Rai has broken his silence over the Ram Temple donation theft controversy after resigning as the general secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra Trust. In a handwritten letter shared on X, Rai said he had remained silent in accordance with the Trust's wishes while the Special Investigation Team (SIT) conducted its probe. Rejecting the allegations against him, he urged people to wait for the SIT's final report, saying the truth would emerge after the investigation is complete. Rai also highlighted his 45-year public life, describing it as an "open book" and reaffirming his faith in the truth. The Trust has accepted the resignations of Champat Rai and Anil Mishra, removed administrator Gopal Rao, and constituted a three-member panel to appoint a new Chief Executive Officer as it seeks to restore public confidence following the donation theft allegations.
