Despite ongoing tensions, India and Pakistan armies exchanged sweets on Diwali occasion at border points in various states. An army spokesperson said that sweets were exchanged at Line of Control in Uri and Kupwara sectors in Jammu and Kashmir as a gesture 'for promoting Peace, Harmony & Compassion in the true spirit of the festival'. He said both the armies also held flag meetings amid a ceasefire. Border Security Force, which mans International Border, exchanged sweets with Pakistan Rangers in Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat.
