‘Sheer coincidence’: Russian envoy on Imran's Moscow visit on day of invasion

Russia has indirectly denied any link between Imran Khan's visit to Moscow on February 24, the day when Vladimir Putin announced a 'special military operation' in Ukraine, and Imran's ouster as Pakistan Prime Minister. In an interview to a local TV news channel, Russian Ambassador to Pakistan, Danila Ganich, said that it was a 'sheer coincidence' that Russia invaded Ukraine on the day of Imran Khan's visit and added that if he knew about it, Imran would have never visited Russia that day. Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari also dismissed allegations and said that there is no link between no confidence motion against Imran Khan and his Russia visit.
