Australia earned a 2-1 series victory over India on January 28, after the fourth and final Test at the Oval in Adelaide ended in a draw. Riding on Sehwag's 151, Indian team managed to bat out the last day as they scored 269 for seven, after both teams decided to call off play, as a draw became inevitable. Though India saved the hard fought Test, they lost the series 2-1, giving another series victory to the Aussies, who will retain the Gavaskar-Border trophy.
