Why BJP wants Jayant Chaudhary to leave Akhilesh Yadav; Says, ‘Chose wrong home'

Ahead of the first phase of elections in Uttar Pradesh on February 10, the BJP is trying to consolidate the Jat vote base in western Uttar Pradesh. On Thursday, Home Minister Amit Shah held a closed-door meeting at BJP MP Parvesh Verma's home in Delhi with 200 Jat leaders. The BJP claims that the Jat leaders have assured them their support in the upcoming polls. But in the same meeting, the BJP also sent feelers to RLD Chief Jayant Chaudhary, who also happens to be one of the biggest Jat faces in Uttar Pradesh. The BJP said that Jayant, who is currently in alliance with the Samajwadi Party in the state, had chosen a wrong home and that BJP's doors are always open to welcome him. Soon after, Jayant Chaudhary responded through a tweet in Hindi, "The invitation is not for me, give it to those 700 farmer families whose houses you have destroyed!!". Watch the political war if words unfold here.
