Pakistani authorities have denied permission for the "Aurat March" to be held on International Women's Day on March 8. The Lahore district commissioner, Rafia Haider, has rejected permission on the grounds of security concerns, "controversial" cards and banners supporting women’s rights, and the likelihood of clashes with members of Jamaat-i-Islami’s "Haya March."
