Nine people were reported dead in multiple militant attacks across Pakistan on Thursday as the country voted in general elections with caretaker government backed by powerful military blocking mobile phone services and shutting land borders with Afghanistan and Iran. Pakistan's former PM Imran Khan is in jail and his party was not allowed to contest polls on its bat symbol, while Nawaz Sharif, another former PM, is likely to return to power with army's backing, analysts have said.
