Russian military build-up near Ukraine: US, NATO allies put troops on standby

NATO allies are putting forces on standby and reinforcing deployments in eastern Europe. In response to Russia military build-up near Ukraine, NATO nations are sending more ships and jets. The US is putting 8,500 troops on ‘heightened alert’ for possible deployment in Eastern Europe in view of the Russian aggression near the Ukraine border. The events highlight the NATO nations' growing fears of a possible Russian incursion. As per inputs and estimates, Russia has amassed around one lakh troops near the Ukraine border.
