US envoy meets Pak Prez

US envoy John Negroponte on Sunday urged President Musharraf to end emergency rule. Negroponte also warned saying that the emergency was "not compatible" with free and fair elections, which are due by early January and would undermine them. The US deputy secretary of state met General Musharraf on November 17, the first high-level meeting of a U.S. official with Musharraf, since he imposed emergency rule on November 3.
