Dubai-Abu Dhabi news LIVE: The Central Bureau of Secondary Education (CBSE) said on Tuesday that the Board exams for Class X and Class XII scheduled to be held on Thursday, March 5 and Friday, March 6, in parts of the Middle East region have been postponed.

Board exams have been postponed in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, according to the CBSE notice.

Dubai-Abu Dhabi news LIVE: As many as 80 international flights were cancelled at the Delhi airport on Tuesday morning due to operational disruptions for airlines amid the escalating Middle East conflict.

Some airlines, including Emirates, have partially started operations to and from the Middle East.

At least 36 departures and 44 arrivals were cancelled at the Delhi airport, people aware of the matter said.

Meanwhile, an Emirates flight EK513 enroute to Dubai returned to the national capital due to airspace restrictions, as per information available on flight tracking website Flightradar24.com.

The official said on Tuesday morning, an Emirates flight EK512 from Dubai landed at the Delhi airport.

"Due to the ongoing political situation in the Middle East, several westbound international flights are causing delays or schedule adjustments," Delhi airport operator DIAL said in a post on X.

Delhi airport handles more than 1,300 flights daily.

In the last three days, Indian airlines cancelled 1,117 overseas flights due to the crisis in the Middle East.

US President Donald Trump said on Monday that the his country has “the capability to go far longer ” than its projected four-to-five-week time frame for its military operations against Iran.

The US and Israel have continued their offensive against Iran since killing its Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Saturday, while Tehran and its allies have hit back against Israel, neighboring Gulf states, and targets critical to the world’s production of oil and natural gas.

At least 555 people have been killed in Iran so far by the US-Israeli campaign, Associated Press news agency reported, citing the Iranian Red Crescent Society. More than 130 cities across the country have come under attack. In Israel, 11 people have been killed, with 31 in Lebanon, according to authorities.

One of the first evacuation flights from the conflict-hit West Asia landed in Delhi on Monday, bringing over 300 Indians to safety.

Etihaad Airlines flight EY 216 from Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, landed at Terminal 3 of the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) at 8:30pm on Monday. It was one of the four evacuation flights arranged by Etihad to India, with the other three landing in Mumbai (at 7:40pm), Bengaluru (9.45pm) and Kochi (10:10pm). The Middle East conflict started with US and Israeli strikes on Iran over the weekend, in which Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei was killed, sparking retaliatory Iranian attacks across the region which show no sign of abating as it entered its fourth day.

Emirates began operating a limited number of flights starting later on Monday, prioritising customers with earlier bookings, according to a statement by the Dubai carrier. While scheduled flights remain canceled for now, Etihad is conducting some repositioning, cargo and repatriation flights “in coordination with UAE authorities and subject to strict operational and safety approvals,” the Abu Dhabi airline said in a statement.

Emirates said in a statement, “We are accommodating customers with earlier bookings as a priority, and those who have been rebooked to travel on these limited flights will be contacted directly by Emirates.”

The airline requested passengers to not go to the airport unless notified.
