The Russia-Ukraine conflict could last a "number of years" and the world needs to be prepared for Moscow "to seek to use even worse weapons", said British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss warned Sunday, as reported by news agency AFP.

“My office is constantly being approached by the relatives of those persons from Tharkhand who are stuck in Ukraine dur They are in a state of panic and horror and compelled to move with limited stock of essential provisions to makeshift safety places like underground metro rail lines… kindly instruct the concerned officials of the Government of India to take steps for their safe return to our State,” Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren wrote to Union home minister Amit Shah.

Russian state owned Gazprom said on Sunday that the country's gas exports via Ukraine to Europe continued normally. 

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Sunday that his government is  ready for talks with Russia but not in Belarus, news agency AFP reported. “Warsaw, Bratislava, Budapest, Istanbul, Baku. We proposed all of them,” Zelensky added. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday that the Centre is working day and night to bring back thousands of Indian nationals stranded in Ukraine. 

The Russian government has said that it is ready for talks with Ukraine in Belarus, news agency AFP reported on Sunday. 

Congress leader Randeep Surjewal on Sunday again hit out at the Modi government over Indian nationals stranded in Ukraine as it faces a full-scale attack from Russia.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday saluted the heroism of the country's special forces that have been fighting in Ukraine.  

Russia claimed on Sunday that two big cities in south and southeast of Ukraine have been besieged, according to news agency AFP. 

The Ukrainian government said on Sunday that Russian forces have entered its second largest city Kharkiv. According to videos posted by Herashchenko and Ukraine's State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection, several light military vehicles were seen moving along a street in the city. 

Earlier in the day, Russian forces blew up a gas pipeline in Kharkiv. 

Air India officials told Hindustan Times on Sunday that a flight from Romania's capital Bucharest, carrying Indian nationals, may land at the Delhi airport at around 4pm. 

China's envoy to Ukraine said that evacuation of Chinese nationals has been postponed as current conditions were too unsafe. "We must wait until it is safe before leaving," Chinese ambassador Fan Xianrong said in a video message. 

The Joe Biden led-administration in the United States said that China will not come to Russia's rescue over the sanctions imposed by Western countries, after Moscow launched a military operation in Ukraine. 

North Korea said on Sunday accused the United States over Russia's full-scale attack on Ukraine.  "The root cause of the Ukrainian crisis also lies in the high-handedness and arbitrariness of the US," North Korea's foreing ministry said on Saturday. 

The French government announced on Sunday that it will ramp up sanctions against Russia. These sanctions would include freezing the financial assets of Russian figures and taking news measures concerning SWIFT, according to a government statement. 

Ukraine's Prime Minister Denys Shmygal said on Sunday that he was grateful for the financial sanctions imposed on Russia by the United States and its allies. 

“Thanks to our friends ... for the commitment to remove several Russian banks from SWIFT and for the paralysis of the assets of the central bank of Russia,” Shmygal tweeted. 

The Pentagon said on Saturday that Russian forces invading Ukraine were frustrated by the Ukrainian military's unexpectedly stiff resistance. 

Former United States President Donald Trump hit out at current President Joe Biden for the escalating crisis in Ukraine.  In a speech Saturday to the Conservative Political Action Conference in Orlando, Trump said called the invasion of Ukraine “an assault on humanity” and a “horrific disaster” and said “we are praying for the proud people of Ukraine.”

Officials familiar with developments told Hindustan Times on Sunday that the third flight of Modi government's Operation Ganga will land in Delhi from Budapest at 9.30 am.  The flight which took off earlier in the day, has 240 Indian nationals that were stranded in Ukraine. 

YouTube has blocked Russia's state-controlled international media network RT in Ukraine and also suspended its ability to monetise content globally, news agency ANI reported on Sunday citing local reports. Apart from RT, YouTube has also restricted other Russian channels on its platform. 

The restriction comes after the Ukrainian government asked YouTube to cut off access of the above channels  in Ukraine.
