Is Spotify down right now? Users say app is not working, ask: 'What's going on?'
By 11 a.m. EDT, DownDetector had logged more than 6,000 outage reports.
Update: Spotify appears to be functioning normally again for users across the United States following a brief outage on Tuesday morning. Reports on DownDetector declined sharply after 11 a.m. EDT.

Initial report: Spotify is reportedly down for thousands of users across the United States. According to DownDetector, outage reports began surfacing around 10 a.m. EDT on Tuesday, with the majority of users reporting issues with the app. Many said they were unable to stream audio, while others reported that uninstalling and reinstalling the app failed to resolve the problem. By 11 a.m. EDT, DownDetector had logged more than 6,000 outage reports.
One user complained, "Open the app now and only displays "something went wrong" this this is some massive failure that shouldn't be happening with a huge money making machine like Spotify."
Another added, "@SpotifyCares on X told me to uninstall/ reinstall. Didn't help. Fresh install won't even open."
A third person wrote, "What is up with ts again i can only play the first ten secs of like 2 songs before the whole site js freezes."
Another user expressed, "Bro im stressed rn i need my music to calm me down and ts is just making me more stressed."
Another added, "I need my music to continue studying i beg you i have to make it before the deadline omg."
Social media flooded with complaints
As the outage unfolded, users took to social media to share the issues they were experiencing.
One person wrote on X, "The music stops when you close the app on your phone if you are connected to tv i don't know about other devices."
Another added, "With the number of issues your platform has been having, maybe don't raise your prices. This is very inconvenient to some people."
