Port Hueneme: All clear at Ventura County Naval Base; active shooter alert deemed ‘false’
Ventura County Naval Base in Port Hueneme gave an all-clear update on its Facebook and said that the active shooter alert was deemed false.
Reports of an active shooter surfaced from the US Army's Ventura County Naval Base in Port Hueneme in California on Tuesday afternoon was a false alert, VCNB said on Facebook.

A lockdown was imposed at the naval base, and personnel were asked to take shelter. Tracy Lehr of News Channel 3-12 initially reported that the shooter was in the medical building at Port Hueneme.
“There is no active shooter onboard NBVC Port Hueneme Force,” an official update from the base read. "Force Protection has determined that the report was false. All gates are now open."
Port Hueneme is a coastal city in Ventura County, Southern California, located northwest of Los Angeles along the Pacific Ocean.
