‘Apathy of authorities’: Delhi HC issues guidelines for functioning of child care institutions

The judgment comes on a plea by a man seeking a magisterial enquiry into an incident concerning the escape of his daughter and four other girls from a children’s home in the city on March 27, 2021, and other similar incidents reported in the past.

Delhi HC restrains AAP, its 5 leaders from levelling allegations against LG

Reacting to the court’s verdict, Saxena tweeted, “Satyameva Jayate (truth alone triumphs)”. The AAP, meanwhile, said in a statement that it respects the judgement “but under no circumstances can we be deterred from raising matters of corruption against any powerful individual”.

The high court also said Article 19(1)(a) of the Constitution affords the right of freedom of speech and expression to all persons, however, the same is subject to restrictions under Article 19(2), which includes defamation. (File)

Delhi LG sues AAP, its five leaders for defamation, seeks 2 crore in damages

Seeking damages to the tune of ₹2 crore, the Delhi LG told the court that the party [AAP], with a carefully planned motive, had made these allegations to divert the people’s attention from the action being taken by the law enforcement agencies against its senior leaders.

AAP’s Amanatullah Khan sent to four-day ACB custody
