BO battle: ADHM earns Rs 26.40 cr in 2 days, Shivaay touches Rs 20.30 cr

The box office battle between Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay is proving to be a neck-to-neck fight. According to Box Office India, ADHM has surpassed Sultan’s first day overseas collection.

It’s proving to be a grand Diwali for Ranbir Kapoor and the team of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil as the film continued to put up an impressive show on its second day of release. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the business figures of both the big releases this week: Karan Johar’s ADHM and Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay.

Both the films have very specifically defined target audience.

While ADHM earned Rs 26.40 crore in two days since its release on Friday, Shivaay has pocketed Rs 20.30 crore in the same time.

According to Box Office India, ADHM also surpassed Salman Khan’s Sultan’s first day overseas collection.

The first-day collection for the film in US/Canada is $ 700,000 approx, while it was $ 500,000 for Sultan.

Karan Johar’s romantic-drama also earned big numbers in the United Kingdom, grossing nearly 200,000 pounds.

However, Shivaay is not losing its grip over single screens and small centres, and thus it may catch up with ADHM in the longer run.
